John 3:22-27. ” After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized……… And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

Christ clearly taught His disciples to baptize by full immersion. We know it was by full immersion as in the accounts given in the scriptures, Christ came up out of the waters. Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Acts 8:39. Plus why bother to travel to a place with “much water”, when you could just collect from a smaller source and sprinkle.

Baptism is representing the death of the old man and the resurrection of the new Christ like person who is without sin.  Romans 6:4; ” Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into DEATH,” (emphasis added).  A body is buried deep within the earth because if left, it would stink, spread disease and lose any dignity by being spread about by wild animals. Hence we know the standard six feet is for a good reason. They don’t lightly sprinkle dirt over the body and erect a fence around it. So why would you accept being lightly sprinkled by water, at an age when you cannot understand, and then undergo some lectures latter in life when you do understand. This is nothing but the traditions of men, not of God and can be found nowhere in the New Testament; remembering that we cannot receive anything spiritual lest it be of God.  It has to be done His way.

Romans 6:4-5. ” Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. “

Christ is God, the I Am, humbled himself at the hand of a man, and was baptized for the sake of righteousness. Now if Christ being the creator of all things, being holy and without sin; how is it that He should have to suffer such a thing?

John 1,” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

We know He is without sin as He was the perfect sacrifice. How be it then, you being a man, should not follow the example of Christ?

Matthew 3:13-15 ” Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. “

Have you been baptized by full immersion, since you believed?  Mark 16:16 says, “ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be dammed.”
